Neurology is the study of the nervous system and all of the systems that work synergistically with it. We go beyond traditional.
Our neurological exam is the hallmark of our patient intake. Some patients have described the deep level of detail and how we examine the functionality of all the areas of the brain, brainstem, and cerebellum as a “bedside MRI.”
A traditional evaluation would view your body as working or not working, in order to catch pathology or potentially life-threatening conditions. Our functional neurological exam is designed to look at how well the brain and body are working, and determine how to improve its functionality.
Some tests are designed to see how well a part of the brain works on its own, other tests are to see how well those parts work together. This includes foundational reflexes that your brain relies on to work appropriately.
Sometimes tests that still come back “within normal limits” may not be normal for you. For example, a few systems that work together may all be working on their own when compared to the “average person,” but when they are supposed to work synergistically with each other they may be miscommunicating or signalling errors. These errors can create symptoms.
